One particularly practical feature: the device can be attached directly onto the rope mid-line without needing to disconnect it from your harness.

The Akimbo 2’s friction elements can be finely adjusted without tools, allowing you to precisely tune the device for ropes between 11.5 and 12.7 mm in diameter. The system is highly responsive to your body weight and the rope’s behavior, delivering a controlled and fluid climbing experience. Additionally, the friction surfaces – the contact points within the device – can be individually configured to optimize performance in changing conditions. The upper arm has also been improved: an integrated spring ensures quick and secure rope locking.
