The manufacturer ISC has issued a product support update regarding the REFLEX climbing device. Because your safety is our top priority, here is a quick summary of the essential facts:
The Issue: Accelerated Wear
Some users have reported performance fade and unexpected slippage . ISC's investigation found that certain devices experience accelerated wear on the upper links (the components responsible for gripping the rope). This is not a manufacturing defect, but rather usage-related wear.
Main Causes:
This wear is significantly accelerated by operating conditions such as:

Extended or repeated high-speed descents

Operation in dirty, gritty, or abrasive environments

Lack of additional friction (where appropriate) or dirty ropes

What do you need to do?

Inspect Regularly: Do not rely solely on the device's age or time-in-service. Pay close attention to any changes in grabbing performance.

Safety First: If your REFLEX exhibits slippage or performance degradation that cannot be resolved by cleaning, remove the device from service immediately and contact ISC!

ISC is actively working on long-term solutions and is committed to supporting affected customers.

Safety Update for the ART BlackBird
ART calls on all BlackBird owners to replace the upper bearing pin of the friction enhancer and the corresponding screw . In isolated cases, variations in material strength were found that could eventually lead to a fracture. There is no immediate risk of falling , but the replacement should be carried out promptly .
The free replacement kit with instructions will be available from week 45 and can be requested by email at info@climb-art.de .
In addition, ART now offers a reinforced stainless-steel side plate to improve the so-called “nose” of the friction enhancer. This upgrade will be available free of charge from week 49 , directly through ART.
All future BlackBirds will be shipped with these enhanced components already installed.

On January 18, 2024, the manufacturer COURANT released an inspection notice regarding the seams at the splices of their Kalimba, Kanopa and Komora ropes. We would like to give you some information about our certified manual splices and seams.
Unlike Courant's machine stitching on their ropes, our stitching at DRAYER is handmade. They are barely visible (see image 2), you may see a piece of the red Dyneema thread used on one side of your connection.
With our splicing method, this seam is not a safety element. All of our certification and normative tests are performed on joints that do not have hand stitches.

This is the official warning from the manufacturer Courant.
Attention customers,
we need you to perform an important safety check. Please inspect the splices on your Courant ropes, specifically looking for the lock-stitch at the splice point. ✅
If the lock-stitch is visible, your rope is ready to use. ❌ If it's missing, please stop using the rope and contact us immediately at Dealer's Contact Information.

Our trade fair season started successfully in April with Forst Live in Offenburg. This event was a great beginning for us. Despite the weather not always being on our side, we had plenty of visitors at our booth.
Our products generated a lot of attention and interest, especially our treeAustria Pro arborist harness. It was fantastic to receive so much positive feedback and see the high demand for quality tree climbing equipment.
Next up were the German Tree Care Days in Augsburg. As always, we were there showcasing our products.
This time, our focus was not only on the treeAustria Pro but also on our well-established treeSave tree cabling system. And you know what? As expected, both received a great response. Visitors also had the opportunity to see the new SIP Canopy AIR-GO protective trousers, Tango climbing ropes, and "I care 4 trees" T-shirts.
The Tree Care Days 2023 in Augsburg were a lot of fun, and we are already looking forward to next year in 2024.
Collaborating with French tree climbers is of great importance to us. That's why we sponsor regional tree climbing championships in France and are pleased to be present at almost all of these events. It is always an amazing experience to witness the talent and passion of French tree climbers firsthand.
We are a significant manufacturer, distributor, and point of contact for tree care among our French customers.
In May, it was time for the German Tree Climbing Championship , which is always a highlight for us every year! It's always a special moment when the best German tree climbers come together for exciting competitions.
This year, the championship took place in Bad Salzelmen near Magdeburg, and we were thrilled with the choice of venue. The small, beautiful park provided a breathtaking setting with many impressive trees. It was a true joy to be there and witness the competitions.
Congratulations to Eva-Maria Mauz on becoming the German Tree Climbing Champion! Her performance impressed us all. We would also like to extend our congratulations to James Kilpatrick for earning the title of German Champion. Both of them climbed their way to the top with their skills and passion, deserving the recognition.
Were you not able to attend? Do you want to see some impressions from the German Tree Climbing Championship? Or were you there and just want to watch a report about the championship? Then we recommend the video by Bastian Bade.
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm3VAUUArR8
From June 2nd to 4th, the French National Tree Climbing Championship took place in Salon-de-Provence. As a manufacturer and sponsor, we were present to support this exciting event.
We would like to thank all the climbers and especially the many volunteers for their tremendous efforts.

  What's next?
Two more major events are on the horizon: the European Championship and the World Championship in Tree Climbing.
The European Championship will take place in Slovakia from June 29th to July 2nd. The best climbers in Europe will compete for the coveted title. We will be there, eagerly awaiting to see who will be crowned the European Champion.
The World Championship is also just around the corner. From August 11th to 13th, things will heat up in Albuquerque, USA. The world's best tree climbers will come together to conquer the ultimate title.
But that's not all! We are also looking forward to the Tree Climbing Championship in Austria from August 18th to 20th, where we will be present. Another regional championship will also take place in France. From September 29th to October 1st, tree climbers will have the chance to showcase their skills in Bourg de Péage.
The grand finale! From November 16th to 19th, the TCI Expo 2023 in St. Louis, USA, marks the last highlight of the year, and we will be there once again!
The TCI Expo is one of the most significant events in the tree climbing industry, and we can't wait to showcase our products to the American audience. It's always a fantastic opportunity to connect with tree care professionals from around the world, exchange ideas, and discover the latest developments in the industry.

The bolts are correctly tightened when the applied red lacquer point forms a uniform surface. It has been reported by a single user that one of these bolts came loose without further action. The shackles carry load and are therefore highly relevant to safety.
